This is one of the rarer dead sides since 3M usually used an unplayable piece of white plastic on their unused sides (which auto-flip players really love- not). It's in CLV with only analog sound and no CX noise reduction, 5 minutes long but just including 30 seconds here.
This one is fun since if someone catches you watching it, you can pretend to go nuts and shout "There is INFORMATION here telling me that there is no INFORMATION on this side! Yet if there is no INFORMATION, why am I seeing this INFORMATION??" (I seriously did that to a former roommate.)
Especially of interest here is that this particular copy is from a laserdisc made in 2001- 3M had 'spun off' their media manufacturing into a new company called Imation, and they were the very last company in the US to manufacture laserdiscs. Sears had been using laserdiscs made by 3M for their in-store program of movie trailers, music videos and store promos shown on all the TVs in the electronics section, and for some strange reason kept using them through 2001, after consumer disc production had stopped! (This disc has trailers for The Mummy Returns, Joe Dirt and Tailor Of Panama, none of which came out on laserdisc in any country.) These were all only with analog audio with no CX.
I heard Imation finally stopped making laserdiscs in 2002, and the last thing they pressed was a custom version of the "Dragon's Lair" arcade game disc for The Dragon's Lair Project (400 copies made).
